aloha

My Hawaiian teacher Kumu Mahealani Kuamo´o-Henry, Kumu Élele o Na Kupuna — teacher and messenger of the ancestors, shared with me the ancient knowledge of the Hawaiian philosophy of life:

Ho ´opono Pono Ke Ala - the path, making right more right or making what is already harmonious even more harmonious.

The Hawaiians assume that we are always in the right place at the right time, that we are always the right person, that everything happens for a reason and is ultimately divine. Always! The universe makes no mistakes.

This concept of life goes back to the Aloha Spirit.

“Alo” means to share, “ha” means the breath of life, the breath of creation. This breath flows through all living things, every human, every animal, every plant, everything that surrounds you. Love is the source of all creation and therefore love connects everything.

To live the Aloha Spirit means to practise self-love first and to recognise your own uniqueness, to keep evolving and to then pass this love on to others, to share and multiply it.

According to the ancient wisdoms of the Hawaiians, everything is energy – every thought, every word, every emotion, every single one of our actions. Every time we send out energy, it eventually comes back to us, and the way we see ourselves and our life will become our reality.

Therefore, to live the Aloha Spirit means to recognise your own creative power (“Spirit Greatness”) and to keep making a conscious choice as to which life you want to live.
This spiritual attitude of the Hawaiians explains the loving, peaceful and respectful treatment of one’s self, other people, nature, and, in short, the entire creation.
